Cheeky Monkeys Newsletter The Essex Summer Term Part 1

Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery NewsletterSummer term part 1

What an exciting few weeks we have lined up for you this half term at Cheeky Monkeys! We have so much to tell you…

Health visitor clinics

Firstly, we are proud to announce we will be working in partnership with Virgin Care to provide Health Visitor Clinics, on the 1st Thursday of each month from 10-11.30 starting on the 4th May, these clinics are the perfect opportunity to meet with your health visitor, have your baby weighed, and then get any advice needed on sleeping, breast feeding, weaning, dummy use etc. They are open to everyone not just those who attend cheeky monkeys, so please don’t forget to tell your family and friends!

Baby Massage course!

The second exciting launch in May is our first baby massage course starting on 15th May, this free four-week course, can help your baby to sleep better, reduce colic and help a greater bond with your baby. To  book and for more information please speak to Laura or Katie.

Our third exciting thing to watch out for is the opening of our new two to threes base room, it will be designed to give our two-year olds the skills and confidence they need to progress especially focusing on their personal, social and emotional needs.

Peppa’s muddy puddle walk!

We will be taking part in save the children’s muddy puddle walk, on the 12th May. For the children in on that day we will be sending home sponsor forms, to raise money for this fantastic charity! We will be doing our muddy puddle walk and other Peppa activities, please ensure your child has wellingtons on this day! Thank you.

30 hours funding

You can now find out if your eligible and apply for the new 30 hours government funded hours via the childcare choices website on www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

If you require any further information or to place your interest with us please speak to Laura or Helen.

Staffing news

We would like to welcome Holly and Sophie to our team. Holly has joined us as our new apprentice and to complete her level three qualification, we hope you all make her feel very welcome! Sophie most of you will recognise from covering on our busiest days and holiday club, she will now join us full time and will be working within our two year olds.

We would like to wish Charley lots of luck as she takes a month out to work aboard, Charley has worked extremely hard over the last year and half to complete her level three qualification, so deserves this break, but hurry back Charley as we will all miss you!

I’m off to big school!

By now you would all have received the exciting news of where your child will be attending school in September, to help aid the transition we will be starting lots of school readiness activities with them including mini pe lessons, visits to the schools, discussions on feeling of starting school. To help us start please can you let a member of preschool know where your child will be going so we can start to make links.

Coming soon will also be the relaunch of our school readiness packs that you can borrow at home and work through together! To register your interest please speak to a member of preschool. Don’t forget we also do a breakfast and after school club including school collections, you can book these on a regular basis or as ad hoc sessions, for more information please just ask.

Tapestry

We love to show all we do on tapestry, but did you know you can comment on the pictures and videos and tell us your thoughts? We also love to see your adventures at home too whether it’s a new skill they have learnt or a fun day out or holiday! To upload just simply click ‘add observation’ and follow the steps, then simply attach photos from your phone or IPad. If you are not receiving pictures or updates then please let us know.
