Curiosity Approach – Letter C

Curious: (Noun): A strong desire to know or learn something.

At Cheeky Monkeys our mission is to support and reinforce this innate curiosity to give children the confidence to develop their own theories about our incredible world! We aim to inspire and nurture inquisitive minds in every child by our environments and from our practitioners skillful questions they ask. These invested adults allow the children to have a willingness to be curious, as they have the boundary of safety and be there to share in the discovery and joyfulness of learning with them!

The below example, both demonstrates how our environment is set up to promote natural exploration by having all the resources they need accessible and able to use independently. It also provides an example of how the practitioner used prompts such as I wonder, to help the child to test his theories, suggesting new ones if appropriate and being their to celebrate with him when he achieved his goal!
